The Kulturgenerator was an online gallery based on the initiative of the Cologne Cultural Council, Niehler Freiheit e.V. and the Wachsfabrik art centre to support local artists and initiatives during the covid-19 pandemic.

When the power goes out, a generator is needed. The cultural generator was created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic - especially in view of the closures of cultural institutions during the first lockdown in March 2020. Within the solidary framework of shared earnings we could support over 100 local artists and initiatives with our self-support plattform.
